Chapter 9
Like two detectives they kept looking around, trying to find anything that could be of use in their upcoming escape, but to no avail. The plan they had come up with earlier was the only one that could potentially work.
Having dumped the ore onto the train, they went back toward the mine. An empty wheelbarrow down a steep hill was no joke either. One slip on a rock and one could fall down the slope with ease.
When they reached the bottom, they were instruced into a tunnel – as they expected. The guards were counting the workers they let into a tunnel, and the two got positioned somewhere in the middle of it. There were no miners inside yet, so when they reached their position, they both sat down and relaxed.
It didn't take long for them to show up, though, and the moment work started they were most interested in what will be dumped in their wheelbarrows. Seeing as rock was thrown into the wheelbarrows next to theirs, and not their own, they were both very happy to learn they were collecting ore that time around.
