Playing the Sims: An Embarrassing Incident and Cake

Hello, and welcome to my blog- How to Play the Sims. If you are new, you can visit my blog and catch up by reading my previous posts. Follow me @simgirl to receive my newest posts in your Steemit feed.

Legacy Challenge

Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sim Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.

I am still not sure if Victoria Steem is immortal, or if she is aging. I do not think that she is aging. She aged into an adult after being stuck as a young adult for almost 10 days. I am not sure if she will stay immortal, or if she will suddenly turn into an elder.

In case she does grow older, I have been building the Steem family, so that there will be enough hands helping in the garden. The garden is already too much for Veronica and Jack as it is, and Jack doesn’t have a job. It has taken both to take care of Angelica, and Josette.

The family has been able to earn some money from the garden, and I could afford to put some walls up, and a door for the twin’s bedroom.

@snook advised me to try painting for more money, so I bought them an easel to practice. Now all Victoria needs to do is find the time to paint…

Although the girls are in a good mood, Veronica, and Jack have been trying their best to keep up with everything, and are not having any fun. The children have been given toys, which has been boasting their imagination skill. Angelica and Josette have reached level 3 in imagination.

Veronica is in her third trimester of her second pregnancy. She had her first accident today, in front of the baby, while she was potty training her.

I felt so bad for her. She became embarrassed, and she had 3 or 4 red buffs because of it. One of the red buffs was being a bad mentor for having an accident, while teaching her child to use the bathroom.

When one of your Sims does not make it to the bathroom, they will have an accident. If this happens, their hygiene level will drop, they will need a shower, and then after they will need to mop up the mess. The whole incident is embarrassing, and the Sim will get an embarrassed buff, in which they will want to hide from everyone.

Sunday was a better day. Victoria continued her potty training of the twins. Jack got to meet Victoria’s co-worker. They were happy to find out they both had the bro trait. They talked while Jack watered the garden.

I looked for the sprinkler in the store, but could not find one, so they have been watering the garden by hand. It takes a long time. Jack has been taking step towards his life goal of gardening. He has reached the gardening skill level of 4. They have been able to build the house with the extra garden money.

The bills have not arrived in a long time….

Sunday night Victoria went into labor. For this baby, I sent Victoria and Jack to the hospital alone. They hired a nanny to stay with the twins while the baby was born.

Angelica learned to use the potty right before, so that’s one less diaper that needs to be changed in the Steem household.

When a toddler Sim learns to use the potty on their own, they will automatically use the potty chair when they need to use it. The adult Sim will no longer need to carry the child to the potty, and stand there waiting for them to finish.

Another girl! Victoria and Jack named this baby, Joy. That way I could spell it right the first time! They were back from the hospital in a moment. When you send the Sims to the hospital alone, you will not go through the cinematic that takes place in the hospital.

The Sims leave the home, you are given a choice as to hiring a nanny for the children, or sending them to day care, and then soon after, you are asked to name the baby. The Sims, and the new baby are then returned to the home, with the baby in the bassinet.

Victoria really wanted that cake. It was funny because she went into labor as she was cleaning out the spoiled food from the fridge, and she wasn’t even fazed by the labor. She went to the refrigerator and was going to eat her cake. I had to cancel the action, and tell her, hey you need to go to the hospital…

Jack ran out of the house waving his hands above his head. When they all came home, he was still running around with his hands above his head. Then he just crashed in the bed. Victoria went right for that cake when she got home.

The nanny that is hired, will stay in the home, and continue to care for the children, and clean the house, until you dismiss them. If there is a lot that needs to be done, the nanny can be very helpful. If there is not a lot to do, they just get in the way.

You can dismiss the nanny, by choosing the friendly interaction, and then selecting the dismiss command from the options available.

I really wanted a boy…

Not everyone is happy to meet joy…

I hope you have learned a little more about building a family in the Sims 4 game. As you can see it does not take much money to raise a family in this game, but it does take time and energy.

It is more of a challenge to play a family, without living in a make-shift home with little to no money. As the family grows, the home of the family must also grow.

Until next time,

Happy Gaming- Sim Girl
