Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sim Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.
With all the extra money the garden has been providing, I went crazy and bought some modern luxuries for the Steem family. The children have an activity center, so they can sit and draw, and the family now owns a television!
I also gave the entire family a make-over. Victoria let her hair grow out a little, and the twins now have the same hairstyle, as well as matching outfits. Joy is out of that hooded pajama set, and now has pig-tails. I kept referring to Carolyn as a boy because she didn’t have any hair, so she now has the short haircut, the same as the others did.
Since, the twins will be doing homework, I added a table in the kitchen, so they don’t have to go outside. Now, the family can eat together too.
By selecting the options, you will find the lessons for the Sims 4 game packs, and expansions you have installed. It is a good idea to read these lessons when you install a new game pack or expansion, so you will have some idea of the changes in your game.
Each expansion and game pack will be available to play, and adds to your current game play.
The Parenthood game pack, is my latest addition to my Sims 4 game. In this game pack, my Steem family will have more opportunities to interact in new ways. The parents will earn a new parenting skill, teach character values to the children that will affect their behaviors, and will have the option to discipline the children.
You have no idea; how happy I am to learn that the children can change their traits from negative to positive in the Parenthood game pack.
The Parenthood game pack adds five, character-values that can be influenced by the Sim’s behavior. These are manners, responsibility, conflict resolution, empathy, and emotional control.
This part of the game only influences the toddlers, children, and teens of the game.
Manners are taught as the child grows, and can be influenced either positively, or negatively by the parents.
Responsibility can be taught by influencing the child to do more for themselves, and others. Conflict resolution can be taught by asking siblings to apologize to each other after a fight, and to learn to make peace with others after negative interactions.
Empathy can be learned by using the new doctor play set, and by feeling bad for others’ misfortunes. Some traits such as the good trait may have positive contributions to being empathetic. Emotional control may be learned by blogging about negative experiences, or writing in a journal.
The child can now be disciplined by being grounded for a day. Parents can now calmly discuss the child’s behavior, be firm, or snap, and yell at the children.
Jack and Victoria opened the parenting skill as soon as they interacted with the children. There was a monster in the bedroom, so all the girls were up in the middle of the night.
The twins need to have their own room, so they do not wake the younger ones with their monster stories. I also remembered that the master bedroom doesn’t have a door. Josette singing in the hallway woke up Victoria. They could all use some more room around here.
With the twins now going to school, there will only be two children in the home during the day. (That is until the new baby arrives.) Hopefully that will take some of the responsibility from Victoria and Jack.
With the Parenthood game pack, Jack now has parenting options when communicating with the children. He can now teach Joy how to say please and thank you, and to say sorry.
These options are found by clicking on one of the children Sims, selecting the parenting option, and then the command.
The children’s simology now has the character values menu with the Parenthood game pack. This shows the progress of the child and the negative or positive traits they have learned.
Joy has an angelic trait to begin with, so most of her character values are positive. She could use some positive influence when it comes to empathy. You can check your Sim children’s simology by selecting the head icon of the bottom control panel.
This menu also shows you how many days they will be in their current life phase.
Not long after the first day of school started, Jack got a phone call from the school in which they informed him that Angelica was running around trying to kiss the other students. Fortunately, she didn’t catch any of them.
Jack had to inform Angelica that kissing is not good at school. This was considered a teachable moment. Angelica’s manners increased, but her emotional control decreased.
The children now also have the option to hug lovingly! Joy and Carolyn are too cute!
Victoria has the chance to teach manners, by explaining to Carolyn why she should use, please and thank you.
I have to say the interactions for the parents and the children are just adorable. It gives the game a much more detailed interpretation for raising the children, with more connections, and encounters.
I am glad I added the Parenthood game pack to my Sims 4 collection.
Victoria gave birth to another baby girl. Since, the chances of having a boy have been diminished, I gave Jack’s name away to the last girl. Congratulations to Victoria and Jack Steem on their fifth girl named Jackie Steem.
Sounds like a song. ooooo Jackie Steem…
Jack has become a professional at spraying under the bed for monsters.
There are many reasons parent Sims do not get any sleep. Babies will wake the parents to eat, or be changed. Toddlers will wake the parents because of bad dreams, and kids will wake the parents because of monsters under the bed.
Everyone was sleeping for about 10 minutes, until the monsters arrived.
Kids will not go back to sleep if there are monsters under the bed. One of the parents must spray under the bed for monsters, before the sleep option will appear for their beds again.
Here is a picture of Carolyn twirling around in the dirt to bring a smile to your face!
I hope you have learned a little more about the Sims 4 legacy challenge, the Parenthood game pack, and how to have a bunch of girls!!!!
If you enjoy playing families in the Sims 4, then you would love the addition of the Parenthood game pack.
Until next time,
Happy Gaming- Sim Girl
