Playing the Sims: This Game Revolves Around Cake

Hello, and welcome to my blog- How to Play the Sims. If you are new, you can visit my blog and catch up by reading my previous posts. Follow me @simgirl to receive my newest posts in your Steemit feed.

Legacy Challenge

Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sim Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.

We finally got a chance to blow out some more candles, on one of the many cakes Victoria has cooked. When the game is working properly, and you do not have the immortal buff, you can cook a cake, and then add birthday candles to the cake for around $10.

Once the cake is set on a surface, and the birthday candles are added, you can click on the cake to open the options. The, blow out the candles option, is for the Sim who is clicking on the cake. Do not blow out the candles, or your Sim will age into the next life stage early.

You will need to select, more options, to find the help blow out candles option for the cake. From there, you can then select the child who is having the birthday, or who can be aged up now.

Joy has grown from a toddler, to a little kid. When I rolled the random trait generator, Joy received the wiz kid aspiration, and the loves outdoors trait from Jack.

When @snook and I were reading the rules for the legacy challenge, and it mentions that if you have installed the Parenthood game pack, that you will no longer need to use the random trait generator. You will be shaping the character of the child, a scary thought, so there’s no need to generate a random trait.

Joy will be the last one who will be randomly generated from the Sims legacy challenge website.

Here’s a picture of the three Steem kids. Josette, and Angelica are doing their homework. Joy is watching on with little interest.

While tending to Jackie, Victoria reached level of 4 of the parenting skill. Since she interacts with 5 children now during each day, it has not taken her very long to build this skill. She can now give time outs, and she will have more information on how her advice will impact her children’s development.

Jack’s gardening skill has also increased to level 8. He can now overgrow pruned Bonsai trees to re-shape them. I have not bought the bonsai tree yet. But this may be a good reason to have one.

Once your toddler Sims grow up to be kids, they will begin going to school Monday through Friday. Before their first day of school, they will have homework in their inventory.

To access the homework, open your Sim kid’s inventory, and then select the homework. You will then be given an option to do homework. Once this option is selected, your Sim child will take the homework from their inventory and sit somewhere to do it.

The parent Sim will have the option to go up to the child, and help them with their homework. The child Sim can also ask the parent for homework help. If the parents do help the child with their homework, it will get done faster, and the child will get better grades.

This is the first picture I could get with everyone asleep at the same time. The pictures of the Sims down at the bottom of the screen shows the mood, or well-being of each Sim.

The color of the Sim’s background shows, in colors, how is Sim is feeling. Having the dark blue background, shows that all the Sims are now sleeping.

A green background means all their basic needs are met. White means they are fine. Yellow means one or more of their needs are becoming low. Red means that one or more of their needs are low.

You can click from one Sim to another, by left-clicking their small picture. And, you can follow them with the camera by right-clicking their picture. Once you are following the Sim, you can select actions for them to take.
You can easily click from one Sim to another, so you can help them all meet their needs and desires.

Josette is going through a phase and has found her spirit animal. She now wants to wear a bear suit always. When she must take it off, she gets a sad buff.

I have also discovered that a stinky toddler will give anyone around them a negative buff.

These Sims are always awake. The parents are very tired, and I’m not too proud to admit that I may have had too many kids for a legacy challenge.

I still rolled for the random toddler trait for Jackie, because I got used to using it.

If you don’t know which trait to give your toddler, you can go to the Sim Legacy Challenge, and use the random toddler trait generator to choose one for you.

Jackie got the Clingy trait. This trait means Jackie will avoid Sims outside the household, and will be sad if she gets left behind. She will gain extra skill when taught, and will recover faster from bad moods when comforted.

I have to say Jackie is the cutest out of all of them! I’m hoping that she can become the heir of the family.

The heir of the family will be determined by which one of the Steem daughters are grown to the young adult age at the time of the last of the first generation dies.

If the girls do not reach a young adult age, they will not be able to take over the home.

The heir of the Sim Girl legacy challenge will be determined by the reader’s suggestions. If you would like to choose the heir of the Steem household, let me know in the comments which Steem daughter will continue the legacy, after Victoria and Jack have passed.

This will be a while, and I hope all the girls will have reached the young adult stage before this change.

For now, they are just cute little kids, that have no idea they will be taking over the Steem farm eventually.

Jackie can only play with her blocks for so long before she gets sad….

I hope you have learned more about how to play the Sims 4 game, and the changes I have in my game because of the Parenthood game pack. Every expansion and game pack will give your game different experiences. Check out @snook’s posts on her legacy challenge too. She just recently started playing the Sims 4 and she really is doing a great job.

Until next time,
