An understanding of perspective is a must for everyone involved in representational drawing, which includes a variety of fields such as illustration, interior design, architecture, industrial design, engineering design, scenic design, and, of course, the fine arts. For those concerned with freehand perspective, it provides all the important principles and "shortcuts" needed to draw easily and effectively.
Perspective is concerned with achieving a sense of space, depth, and the third dimension, within the confines of the flat drawing surface.
There are several visual principles that serve this purpose, such as diminution, foreshortening, convergence, shadow and shadows, etc. some of which we have already seen and others will come very soon.

A great example of what we can do with some simple perspective principles is this that @raah sent us for homework contest #6.
I am very happy to see the drawing you share with us @raah!
In this drawing, we can not only see a good understanding of the principles of perspective but also a great sense of colour with this wonderful combination of complementary colours like yellow and blue.
Very beautiful is also the cutting of the shapes that are no longer just cubes but become more intricate shapes. Great job!
I knew that @raah could be a great contribution to these drawing lessons and I'm very grateful for his/her participation in this task.

I also notice that he/she can't resist getting ahead of the lessons by showing a drawing from a three-point perspective that we haven't seen yet.
I assure you that soon we will see this task and also others as interesting as the four-point perspective or why not, we will leave the Euclidean geometry world behind to take a look at very interesting non-Euclidean geometry concepts such as those of Rieman and Lobachevsky that MC Escher once took in his fantastic drawings, that if you are still interested in these lessons about the craft of drawing.
